Artful Mix
I guess I will start off with my Japanese photoshop and Illustrator art. All textures are downloaded off Google images and then cut and resized to fit the shapes and folds of the Kimono dress. First, I got the inspiration to do this off the renaissance and baroque art. Paintings back then, emphasized not only the subject in the painting but also the cloth fold and texture-made to look extremely realistic. Of course I gave it my own twist and used the ever awesome photoshop program instead of the traditional paint. The Geisha of course was inspired by old Japanese art. Meshing the two styles I believe made it kind of cool. Hopefully I can get myself to do a series of this fabric and drawing artwork. My next big idea is to draw a figure of the nude and cover her sensual features with fabric as well. I want to base it off the Orientalist art of the 1800's and on, as well as the traditional nude painted in modern art of the 20th century. I guess I might just make postcards and sell them on Etsy.com!!! :D
